Chhaayaageet #2 - "The song must be recorded properly."
“The song must be recorded properly”, says the ailing veteran music director from his bed to the playback singer. Music is being composed and recorded for a film. But the music director has taken sick. No treatment is helping. Even then, he has refused to stop working. And now the doctors have advised bed rest.
The maestro’s son, a prodigy himself, pleads his father to rest, to let him be taken to the hospital for check ups, but in vain.
So the son approaches his friend, the popular playback singer, to pay a visit and implore upon his father the importance of rest and treatment.
The playback singer pretends to have a sore throat. Since we can’t record for a few days, why don’t you go to the hospital, get yourself checked, he says to the veteran composer. It’s probably nothing serious anyway. When we are both feeling better in a few days, we’ll record the song.
“Dekh Kishore, gaana achchey se record hona chahiye”....The song must be recorded properly. The music director implores the singer.
The music director relents and is admitted to the hospital. He does not make it back. A few weeks later the son and the playback singer record the song in the studio.
